About Us

Our Belief

The Bible

The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error.

See: 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105,160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5.

God

God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

See: Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2; Corinthians 13:14.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

See: Matthew 1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14, 15; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4; Romans 1:3, 4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14, 15; Titus 2:13.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make us aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.

See: 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16, 17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:1.

Eternity

We were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is to exist in hell after life on earth. To be eternally in union with God is to exist in Heaven after life on earth. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence.

See: John 3:16; John 2:25; John 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; 1 John 5:11-12; Matthew 25:31-46.

Mankind

We are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. We are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although we have tremendous potential for good, we are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” This attitude separates us from God, hence the requirement for a saviour, Jesus Christ.

See: Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1, 2.

Our History

In 1998, Florence Obeng (currently the Head Pastor of Grace Fountain Gate Chapel, Edmonton) joined the Fountain Gate Chapel, Sunyani, Ghana. Due to her zeal and desire for the Lord, she was appointed as a deaconess and served until she relocated to Canada. Florence Obeng moved to Canada in 1999, where she quickly joined a church and served faithfully in Quebec until she moved to Edmonton, Alberta, in 2005.

In the spring of 2007, with the apostolic anointing and the desire to win souls for the Kingdom of God, she was led by the Holy Spirit to plant the first Fountain Gate Chapel in Canada, also known as Grace Fountain Gate Chapel International, Edmonton. As a part of Fountain Gate Chapel ministries worldwide, the branch is connected and works collaboratively with the central presbytery. Currently, the church in Edmonton worships on a weekly basis, focusing on the needs of all people, preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, and raising a lively church that is connected to God (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).

The church, Fountain Gate Chapel, was birthed as an idea of high conviction in the heart of Rev. Joseph Eastwood Anaba, a Pharmacy graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Kumasi, Ghana. He believed that ancestral worship and its concomitants – superstition, ignorance, diseases and poverty-could not be the divine purpose for his people.

NINTAM (Northern Deliverance In Tears Ministry), which means Tears in the Frafra dialect, was the acronym for the full name of the Ministry. The NINTAM Ministry, after about 1½ years of intercessory emphasis, believed that God was leading the ministry to another ministerial emphasis. The name Broken Yoke Foundation was chosen to give expression to the new direction of spiritual emphasis. An aggressive move of the Holy Spirit to break the yokes of the people of the Land released an amazing dimension of the anointing.

The present name, Fountain Gate Chapel, became necessary again for the church to depict yet another phase in the life of the church, when the evangelistic and prophetic role of the ministry produced people who had to settle down as thriving churches to water the lands where they were found as supernatural fountains.

Vision

To raise lively and purposeful churches with Christ as the head and where people have a personal relationship with God. To develop leaders who are conscious that people is our focus; presenting to the world the All-Sufficiency God who makes rivers in the desert.

Mission

To declare the full Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world with powerful preaching, creative wisdom and holistically raising people-focused individuals who make the maximum impact on their generation.
